If you're not taking fire...

... then you probably are not over the right target area:

The God-Emperor definitely made a mistake by bowing before the pressure to recant his previous statements criticising his own intelligence services. The fact is that the US intelligence community has been, on balance, nothing short of a plague upon the American people for the last thirty years.

This is the same Deep State intel community that has led America into disaster after catastrophe with almost monotonous regularity. Under the "guidance" and "wisdom" of the CIA, the NSA, the FBI, the DNI, and the plethora of other alphabet-soup agencies that all report into the National Security Council and the National Security Adviser, and finally up to the President, we have seen:

  • American involvement in the fratricidal Balkans conflict and especially 1998 Kosovo war, in which US forces bombed Christian Serbs in support of Muslim Albanians, and which was a major catalyst for the severely damaged state of Russo-American relations today;
  • The massive failures of intelligence that led to over three thousand American deaths on 9/11;
  • The disastrous "Sicilian Expedition" that was the second invasion of Iraq, and the continuing occupation of the same;
  • The, in some ways even more disastrous, Afghanistan campaign, which shows absolutely no sign of ending anytime soon;
  • The overthrow of Colonel Muammar Ghadaffi in Libya, which led to one cock-up after another, culminating in the unmitigated disaster that was the attack on the mission compound at Benghazi in 2012;
  • The supplying of American-backed and financed arms to Al Qaeda-affiliated Islamists in Syria in order to overthrow the secular regime of Bashar al-Assad;
  • The CIA-backed overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, in February 2014, and his replacement by rabidly anti-Russian nationalists, which precipitated the secession of the Donbass region in Crimea and subsequent Russian annexation of the same;
  • The continued involvement of American intelligence assets in the ongoing civil war in Yemen - a situation that can only accurately be described as a "catastrof**k";
Honestly, why the hell do we take the intelligence community's word at face value any more?

President Odoofuss's former CIA Director, John Brennan, blasted the God-Emperor's remarks with respect to the intelligence community, arguing that they amounted to "treason".

This would be the exact same John Brennan who lied under oath to Congress about whether or not the CIA was spying on parts of the Senate. (Spoiler alert: they absolutely were.) The same John Brennan who voted for the Communist Party in 1976. The same John Brennan who also lied under oath to the Senate about the fake Trump "pee pee dossier".

And he would presume to lecture us about moral behaviour?

That doesn't even rise as far up as a pot calling the kettle black. (I never did understand that metaphor as a child...)

This is pure rank hypocrisy. If anyone should be tried and shot for treason, it should be former CIA Director John Brennan - because his actions are provably treasonous. He literally broke his oath of office by lying under oath to Congress - not once, not twice, but repeatedly.

The intelligence community is made up of human beings. They screw up just like the rest of us. The difference between their cock-ups and yours or mine, however, is that when they step in it, people die.

And given the hundreds of thousands of people who have died in the last ten years since the American intelligence community got the US involved in disastrous wars of intervention in the Middle East and elsewhere, it seems to me that the God-Emperor could do far worse than doing the exact opposite of anything and everything that the Deep State intel types recommend.

The silver lining in President Trump's statement is that he has plainly seriously rattled the Deep State by holding a summit with his opposite number from Russia. As I pointed out in yesterday's post, this is an unmitigated Good Thing; the USA and Russia can and should be good friends, or at least cordial ones, and the God-Emperor's meeting with the Neo-Tsar is a small, positive, and very helpful step in that direction.

Russia and the United States of America are both great nations with proud histories and cultures - though at this point America is FUBARd, whereas Russia actually has a future, mostly because in Russia they still appreciate traditional gender roles (outside of Moscow and to a lesser extent St. Petersburg, anyway). These are two countries that should be on friendly terms, not at each other's throats.

The sheer myopia of the intelligence community really does make one wonder whether or not the CIA and its fellow agencies actually understand the difference between arse and elbow. At this point, one would be forgiven for thinking that they all suffer from a severe case of rectal-cranial inversion.

No matter what happens, though, it is the God-Emperor, and us, his loyal legions, against the world. That is the way it has to be.

Because it just wouldn't be a fair fight otherwise.
