A prayer before action

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory,
Forever and ever,
-- The Lord's Prayer
I am not a religious sort. I am not even Christian, so I hope that perhaps you will forgive me if I seem presumptuous in reciting the Lord's Prayer. But the choice that this country, and by extension the West in general, is facing tomorrow, is perhaps worthy of breaking with traditions and decorum, if only just briefly and slightly.

For the first time since Ronald Reagan's election to the Presidency in 1980, these United States of America have a real choice presented to them.

On the one hand, we have a venal, corrupt, mendacious, treacherous, and deeply, truly evil candidate who will stop at nothing in her quest for ultimate power.

There is no line she will not cross, no principle that she will not betray, no enemy that she will not consort with, no ally that she will not throw to the wolves, no friend that she will not sell out for thirty pieces of silver. There is no war that she will not try to avoid. Borders, laws, traditions, and cultural norms mean nothing to her. The very concept of the "American" nation means nothing to her.

On the other hand, we have an uncouth, vulgar, hot-headed, stubborn, orange-faced, orange-haired cartoon character (at least, if you go by the popular media caricatures of him) who nonetheless represents a total paradigm shift from what the American electorate is used to seeing from Republican candidates of the past thirty years.

You may not like him. You may not agree with many of the things he says. You may not believe that he can really do all of the things that he claims to be able to do. You may not think that he actually knows what he is talking about.

It just doesn't matter.

He is the only candidate, from either wing of the One Party of Big Government, who has clearly gone on record as opposing every last one of the insane policies of the globalist cabal that rules the Western world. For all of his many and manifest flaws, he is still the only candidate who actually talks sense on a wide range of topics, from immigration to foreign policy to military strategy to the need for preserving and protecting the American nation.

Today is a momentous occasion, not just for America but for the Western world as a whole. One way or another, the fate of this nation will be decided. And no matter what happens today, the American people will not be silenced again. The movement that Donald Trump represents will not be stopped.

The only question is whether this movement will be carried to power peacefully, or through bloodshed and civil strife.

Because, make no mistake, that is what we are facing. Even if Donald Trump wins- as I expect him to- the forces of the regressive Left will immediately take to the streets in an orgy of burning, pillaging, and looting, which is their standard method of expressing their dissatisfactions with the electoral process.

And if the Hilldebeast wins- then God help America, because there is no question in my mind that she will use every method available to her to suppress dissent and hold on to power. That is simply the kind of person that she is.

That is why, when I woke up this morning, I uttered a brief prayer to God.

The very same God that I once rejected, whose Name I spat upon repeatedly in my youth, and who, in spite of my many offences against Him, never once turned His back upon me.

The very same God who had repaid my faith in Him these past several years an hundredfold.

As Americans go to the polls today, to decide their fates for the next four years- and far beyond that, of course- I say that the rest of us would be well advised to show a little faith as well.

So here is my prayer for this day:
Lord, this nation's fate is now in Your hands. We have done all we can do. The people of this country seek relief from their many afflictions, and they turn to You now for aid. There are millions of good and decent people in this land, who deserve to have their faith in You rewarded.
Those who oppose us spit on Your name, they do everything You damned as highest crime. They are, without question, twisted and evil beyond recognition as human beings. And now they seek to rule over us all.
Lord, do not abandon us now in our hour of need.
You may not believe in God. That is fine. I didn't either, for a very long time. You may find it just a little ridiculous to resort to prayer as a way to determine the outcome of an election. That is fine too. I used to think the same way.

But reality is what it is. And tomorrow, when the dust clears and we know for sure who is the victor, we will know whether it will be the fate of the West to endure and recover without bloodshed and war, or whether we must see the destruction and dissolution of the united American nation into anarchy and strife.

No matter what happens today, the war for Western civilisation is not over. It has barely even begun.

DEUS VULT, brothers.
E'en now their vanguard gathers,
E'en now we face the fray--
As Thou didst help our fathers,
Help Thou our host to-day!
Fulfilled of signs and wonders,
In life, in death made clear--
Jehovah of the Thunders,
Lord God of Battles, hear!
-- From "Hymn Before Action", Rudyard Kipling

  1. MacDough's Song seems.... appropriate... in mood as well.

    1. Indeed. I was reading it in the gym on Sunday- it's one of the sternest, most downbeat poems I've ever come across, but it suits the times perfectly.

    2. Once there was The People and it made a Hell of Earth....

May we not get to "Order the guns and kill"

And not too shabby a prayer here either.

  2. AP just called the election for Donald Trump.

Don't forget to set out a few jars to gather up some liberal tears, everyone. Not only do they make an excellent gun lubricant and fuel additive, but they also go great in an Old Fashioned cocktail.
